     STEP BY STEP

Take a moment and think about every single morsel of food that you pop into your mouth. Did you know that everything you eat can affect your health for better or worse? If we eat too many carbohydrates, fat, or protein it can negatively impact your health, just like eating too little of those same things can as well. So what are we supposed to do? Well, when it comes to nutrition it is all about balance and moderation (watching portion sizes). We still need a good foundation of our nutrition to come from the five food groups- grains, meat and beans, fruit, dairy, and vegetables. However, we can still have room for some of those tasty sweet treats like cookies, brownies, or honey on occasion. After all nutrition should be fun, not boring. The best thing to do when trying to change your eating patterns is to do it step by step. That means choosing more healthful foods one food group at a time, rather than trying to do all of them all at once, which can be overwhelming. By doing this you will be able to stick to your improved eating habits and be well on your way to successful change.

      So don’t obsess about your food, try to eat well and do what you love. It took me a while to realize this, but since I have I enjoy my food and my life more and that's what I want for you.

Alaina Lopez
     Alaina was born in Hawaii and has an identical twin sister who lives in Ohio.  Her father was military  so Alaina grew up in many places (Texas,North Carolina and Nairobi Kenya!).
 Alaina's hobbies include reading and UFC as well as MMA fights. She has also been know to enjoy genres that include stories about  werewolves, vampires, and zombies.
      Alaina majored in nutrition at the University of Ohio Cincinnati and is a Registered and Licensed dietician as well as certified in clinical nutrition support. Alaina enjoys cooking, and developing new recipes.
Alaina became interested in group fitness as a way to reduce anxiety and stress.  Her stress level was so acute that it  Interrupted her sleep. She found that yoga practice facilitated peace and rest. Becoming a yoga instructor was the next logical step and being a nutrition expert is the icing on the cake with respect to helping 
others with health and wellness:).
