Diane Ryland

I have been a group fitness instructor since 1988! Yes, I became an instructor during the "Jane Fonda" days. My interest actually grew out of my ballet background. I began taking ballet in grade school and went on to dance in the Miami Ballet Company as a high school student. After completing nursing school at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa I knew i wanted to teach group fitness and do something that combined the creativity of dance with athletic fitness. I started teaching on a navy base in 1988 and gained my AFAA certification at that time. I have taught in the group fitness setting since then. I have taught good old hi-low combo, step aerobics, boot camp, cardio interval, weight lifting and yoga. I LOVE IT ALL and absolutely enjoy GROUP FITNESS THE MOST! It is full of fun and fellowship. I am American Council on Exercise Certified (ACE), Yoga certified, Pilates certified and Zumba certified. It is ALL fun! My "day job" is that of a nurse anesthetist and I enjoy patient care very much. I have a husband of 25 years, Lamar Ryland. He is the love of my life. He is a "mathologist" or better said a math teacher at Ringgold High School. We love and enjoy our Ringgold community! Our son is 17 and a "band nerd" at Ringgold High. We adopted Romanlee from Russia at age 4! Where did my 4 year old go... he is driving now! I love the Lord and believe that we are all called to His purpose in our lives. I hope that Fitness At Work blesses our community in helping people to become healthy and fit. I believe it is important to provide group fitness for a broad range of ages, body types and fitness levels. Thanks for letting me be a part of your life.
